The stolen
shadow
Due to the remodeling of the square, the town council of this small village in inland Spain decided that the roots of the tree would lift the pavements and that this 40-year-old pine tree should be cut down.
This square, where the artist played as a child, loses not only the central role that the tree played, but also the shade it provided.
This work is intended to commemorate that tree, which provided shelter to everyone who walked through that square on hot summer days, and which had many years of life left that were unjustly taken away from it.
